SLIP n SLIDE WRAP-UP
Wednesday, February 25th, 2009Well Ladies and Gentlemen, that would have to be the most successful inaugural Jimi Ninja event ever. I haven’t had some much fun, nor walked up a steep ass hill that many times, in forever.
With the full Slide coming in at over 100 metres, I’m still claiming NZ’s largest. But the sheer steepness of it actually did set my heart racing as I went from the very top for the first time.
Now, it wasn’t all sprinkles and rainbows the from the start. As the guinea pig, I now have an amazingly red raw, scratched back that looks like I stole a loaf of bread in 1045 and got me a whipping. But once the slide was positioned properly, it WAS all fun and games.
What I was most amazed about was the support from the surrounding community that walked by. Most of whom went home, got their swimming costumes and came back with the kids for a slide. With about 50 people sliding from the ages of 3 to 53, that total number of Slides exceeded all my expectations.
The Slide cost a bunch of money, but that was all good for the amount of collective fun that people had. And the fact now remains that I own NZ’s longest Slip n Slide and we can pull it out again any goddam time we like.
All this ranting means nothing compared to the pictures, so take a look.
Oh, and also, if you’re on facebook, then become a fan.
Cheers,
Jimi Ninja
(Ahhhhhh, since I can’t seem to make the SimpleViewer Gallery work, just go to The Jimi Ninja Events Facebook Page to see the pics for the moment)
